01 Our Journey

Five years as Uttara’s trusted table

Since December 2021, Sushi yAki has served Thai, Japanese and Dim-Sum under one roof in Uttara. Our signature: a premium room at a price families can enjoy again and again. What guests remember most is the live sushi counter, and portions that never feel stingy.

Uttara figures are provided by the founder; a CA-verified financial certificate is being prepared. The same founder also runs Crush Momo, Sushi Momo and Shizen.

02 The Opportunity

Why Gulshan–Banani

Gulshan–Banani has costly hotel buffets on one side and small sushi bars on the other. What it lacks is a premium room where a whole family can dine well at a fair price. That is exactly the gap Sushi yAki filled in Uttara, and the new flagship brings the same experience at twice the scale.

Reaching target needs about 66 guests a day, or 55% of seats filled; Uttara already fills 53%. The Gulshan–Banani view is our own assessment and will be tested with pre-bookings before launch. The location agreement is not yet final.

04 Food Concept

Three cuisines, one table, a new standard of plating

The flavours Uttara fell in love with stay: Japanese sushi, fusion rolls and ramen; Thai whole snapper and curries; Dim-Sum crystal prawn wraps and momo. The flagship adds a more refined presentation: black-stone plating, a hero piece on every plate, and generous sharing platters for families.

05 How the Partnership Works

How your Tk 1 lakh turns into profit

The entire partnership runs in five simple steps.

  1. 1 · InvestTk 1 lakh per unit. Take anywhere from 1 to 5 units.
  2. 2 · We operateThe founder and our team run the outlet end to end.
  3. 3 · Profit is countedEach month, net profit is calculated after every cost.
  4. 4 · 30% is shared30% of that net profit is divided among partners by units.
  5. 5 · You get paidInto your bank account every three months, for 36 months.
A worked example

Say you take 2 units, Tk 2 lakh in total. That gives you 0.6% of the new outlet’s net profit. In a month where the outlet earns Tk 20 lakh net profit, your share is Tk 12,000; across a full quarter, roughly Tk 36,000.

Tk 20 lakh monthly net profit is our target scenario. Actual payouts depend on the outlet’s actual sales.

Your profit share comes only from the new Gulshan–Banani outlet; income from Uttara or any other outlet is not part of this pool. The founder manages the brand and the outlet.

06 Use of Funds

Where the Tk 1 crore goes

Every taka raised goes into building and launching the new outlet, and nothing else.

Tk 25 lakhSecurity deposit (refundable)
Tk 30 lakhInterior, built by our in-house team
Tk 10 lakhKitchen, including gas line
Tk 5 lakhEquipment
Tk 10 lakhLaunch marketing
Tk 20 lakhWorking capital and reserve

All funds sit in a dedicated bank account opened for the new outlet, kept fully separate from Uttara and every other business.

07 Profit Calculator

See what you could earn

Profit depends on how many guests walk in each day. Choose your units and a scenario to see your possible profit share over 36 months (before income tax).

Units
Scenario

For context: Uttara fills 53% of its seats every day; the new outlet’s target is 55%. At only 20 guests a day, the profit share would be close to zero.

Possible profit share over 36 months

Monthly sales~Tk 27 lakhTk 45 lakhTk 60 lakh
Monthly net profit~Tk 5.3 lakh~Tk 13.2 lakh~Tk 20.2 lakh

All figures are target-based projections assuming a Tk 2,500 average bill. Sales are assumed lower in the first six months, so early payouts will be below the average. As with any investment, you can lose money.

08 Safety Margin

How much room the business has if guests slow down

The target is 66 guests a day. Yet the outlet covers its own costs with far fewer.

  • 19 guests/day: break-even, every cost covered (~Tk 17 lakh monthly sales)
  • 27 guests/day: the business alone can return the Tk 1 crore
  • 50 guests/day: minimum plan, Tk 45 lakh monthly sales
  • 66 guests/day: target, Tk 60 lakh monthly sales

Below an average of ~27 guests a day, returning capital would depend on the founder’s personal means. The refundable security deposit is not counted here.

09 Payout Timeline

When and how you get paid

The full 36-month journey, starting from opening day:

12 Risk Disclosure

The risks, and how we will manage them

A thoughtful investor deserves the full picture, so here it is, plainly.

Fewer guestsGulshan is competitive. We will test demand with pre-bookings and pop-ups before launch, and report guest numbers every month.
Lower average billAt Tk 1,900, reaching target needs ~30% more guests, so menu pricing is fixed before launch.
Higher rentAbout 2.7 times Uttara’s. Rent increases and lease term will be written into the agreement.
Capital returnBelow an average of 27 guests a day, it depends on the founder’s personal means.
Opening delaysIf the location takes longer, money sits idle; refund terms will be in the agreement.
Tax and legalAll figures are before income tax. The full structure is under review by a lawyer and a Shariah expert.

You can lose money. Invest only what you can comfortably leave in place for 36 months.

FAQ

The questions we hear most

Is the profit amount certain?

No. Profit depends on the outlet’s actual sales. Over three years, one unit could earn about Tk 1.94 lakh in the target scenario, Tk 1.26 lakh at minimum and Tk 50,000 in the weak case. At just 20 guests a day, the profit share would be close to zero.

Will I own part of the outlet?

You become a profit partner in the new outlet, which means you receive a share of its net profit. The brand, the outlet and all operating decisions stay with the founder.

What happens if there is a loss?

Any loss in the first three months is carried entirely by the founder. After that, if a month runs at a loss, later profits first make it up before anything is shared.

Is it Shariah-compliant?

The founder has decided the structure will follow Shariah principles. A Shariah expert is reviewing it, and no money will be accepted from anyone until their written opinion is in hand.

Will I get my capital back?

The founder personally commits to returning your original capital at the end of 36 months. At an average of about 27 guests a day, the business alone can fund this; below that, it depends on the founder’s personal means.

Can I exit early?

Yes, after one year. The founder may buy back your units at the then market value, or you may transfer them to someone else with consent. How market value is set will be written into the agreement.

How will I see the accounts?

The new outlet has its own bank account. You receive a quarterly report on sales, costs, profit and guests, and once a year you may have your own accountant audit the books.

When does the project start?

The project goes ahead once 80 units are filled. The round closes on 15 January 2027. If the outlet does not open for any reason, the agreement will set out when and how your money is returned.

Why Gulshan–Banani?

The area has expensive hotel buffets and small sushi bars, but few premium rooms where families can dine well at a fair price. That model has worked in Uttara. This is our assessment, and we will test demand with pre-bookings before launch.

How much can I invest?

From 1 unit (Tk 1 lakh) up to 5 units (Tk 5 lakh), paid in full when the agreement is signed.
